Dear Hanif,

You've really done a marvelous job.

My very first exposure to any kind of literature was Ibn-e-Safi, when I was in 6th grade. By the time I did my Middle School, (1962) I had read all the novels he had written by 1960.

My urge for his new stories was so strong that, to fill the waiting periods, I started reading Akram Allahbadi and made friends with Khan and Balay. They were no match for Hameed and Fareedi but I had to pass time somehow.

In 8th Grade, I moved on to Dutt Bharti and in 9th I was introduced to Manto. In my Inter College I was fascinated by Tolstoy and Dostoevsky and in the University, Alberto Moravia became my favourite. But Ibn-e-Safi was my first love and I still feel thrilled when I remember the days of my 6th.grade: a 12-year old boy, walking in his imagination on the road to Taar Jaam, thinking of Juliana.F.Waters...how would she really look like ?

By the way, I had the honour of seeing Agatha Christie in person at the age of 14 and still have her autographs. You have given her quote about Ibn-e-Safi, can you please tell me what the source is, can we somehow get to the original writing or interview where Ibn-e-Safi is mentioned.

Your Website is obviously at an early stage and a lot of work is yet to be done. You must give a detailed account of the ja'li (fake) Ibn-e-Safis that suddenly mushroomed in the 1970's (Abban-Safi, En-Safi etc.) If I get all the required material, I can write a detailed article for BBC, on his 80th. birthday in July 2008.

I'm once again thankful to you for sending me the link and hope this contact will continue.

Dear Hanif,

For a long long time I have been wanting to send you this feed back regarding your excellent work.......but I could not find words to fully express my thoughts......I know you are a man who always keeps on doing wonderful things....but in creating the Ibne-Safi site you have even outdone yourself......great work.

In my humble opinion the heading on the home page " Paish ras" should be " Pasihras/ Paish Lafz, because in some of the books particularly the second edition the word " Paish lafz is used. .

Salam-o-Alaikum

I'm a die-hard fan of Ibn-e-Safi and his work. Recently I had the chance to get my hands on complete sets of Jasoosi Dunya and Imran series. Currently I’m in the middle of reading both the series. By profession, I’m an IT professional and am interested in setting up a website to shed more light on Ibne Safi's work including summaries of all the novels in English. I also want to set up a virtual reading room where people can listen to Safi's novels read by different members and so on. For this purpose I would like to seek your permission to go ahead with this project. Everything and everything will be done within the boundaries of copyrights. Can you please go over my request and give me your feedback as well as your take on this project.

I’m hoping for a positive & constructive response.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Assalam alaikum,

I visited your web site and quite frankly impressed with the information you have presented. I would like to buy all the 'Jassosi Novels' from Ibn-e-Safi but don't know where to find it in INDIA. I am a reader of Ibn-e-Safi works since my childhood and i have read almost every novel he wrote. I have a great passion for his work and have always thought of possessing his entire collection. It is some kind of weird but i don't like to buy the new published books. I need the old ones from 'Jasoosi Duniya'. Just want to feel the way like old days. I thought may be you could help me. I will highly appreciate if you could provide some contacts in this regard.

Waiting for your reply.

Today my dream has come true, when I saw your website about the Ibne Safi.

Well done! Also I was wondering that if you could provide me a total price list including postage fee for Imran Series & Jasoosi Duniya to Canberra Australia.

I am a great fan of Ibne Safi and I was very sad on his death, sometimes I wonder why he had to die so young & early.

Jawad Ahmad, Lahore Pakistan (October 25, 2007)

I am a 35 Year old male whose early educational life was glorified by the presence of Ibne Safi Sb's literature at home. Being from Peshawar, reading was the major pass time we had in those days, and most of the elders were also engrossed in these classics. I still truly believe that Mr. Safi's writings were well ahead of his time. It is such a pity that like all other fields of life, there is no true recognition of the literature Mr. Safi left for his followers. Had he been in USA or UK, he would have been a bigger phenomenon than Stephen King or John Grisham etc....

I like to thank you so much for brining such fond memories of child hood alive.

Friends,

This is an excellent website dedicated to a legendry character like IBNE SAFI, who always was my guide in my childhood and youth through his heroic idols like Faridi and Hameed & Imran. I am delighted that through this website you are highlighting the personality of Ibne Safi and believe that u will make it an excellent website among all other sites. When I was a youth I used to extensively read all publications of Ibne Safi and take pride in the lives of his heroes. I took their lives as idol and tried to be as upright as his characters were. I would like to request his successive sons and daughters wherever they are to come forward and provide as much assistance to make this website the best one on their father, who for decades enlightened the hearts and minds of millions of people across sub-continent. I wish Ibne Safi had lived longer to make us always wait for his new publications and the way his heroes used to fight the evils and highlight rule of law, for the previous and present generations.

Tanveer Ahmed, Ottawa, Canada (August 13, 2007)

Ibne Safi was a friend of my father. While leaving for Canada in 1971, I paid a visit to him with my dad. I still remember his office, behind the galvanized overhead door at Chourangi, something like a garage we have here.

He was very pleased, that I was accepted at the University, blessed me, and gave me his complete set of Hamidi-Faridi and Imran series, which I still have, 'a rare treasure'.

Although I knew at the time, that he was a very famous writer, but had no idea that I was meeting a legend for the last time.

Dr. Arshad Saeed, Canada (August 13, 2007)

Ibne Safiwas indeed a great writer. What a multi talented person. I am sure if he was born in the USA, a number of his novels would have been made into Hollywood movies.

Hanif Sahab ASA,

Hope this email finds you in best of your health. I have been part of this forum and have been familiar with you by your emails.

First of all I should say "Thank You" to the efforts made by you for a complete, comprehensive and informative website. I still remember the old website and through which I had contacted Abrar Safi for Ibn-e-safi novels in USA. He was so cooperative and nice and I remember, for some reason the old website went offline. I tried very hard to contact him to start the website again but couldn't get any link and then last year you have started this website. I have been visiting your website since you have launched it and believe me you have really done a wonderful effort and May Allah SWT reward you for this. Amen! I can understand the issues you could have faced to make this website but it's remarkable.
